Through a mix of TRX and kickboxing classes, she has achieved her fitness goals. Read her interview below:
1) What prompted you to join the gym?
"I was looking for somewhere close to work."
2) Were you nervous to join a "boxing" gym?
"I had been considering joining a kickboxing gym for quite a while. I finally decided to give it a try and I love it!"
3) What was your first class like?
"It was a great workout and Christina teaches you the combinations at your own pace so you don’t feel overwhelmed."
4) What are classes like for you now?
"I am working more on my technique now in the kickboxing classes and although they are easier than when I first started they are always a great workout."
5) What results have you seen?
"Before I joined the Training Station, I ran and lifted weights. Running is very hard on your joints and when done on a regular basis can decrease your flexibility. As far as lifting weights, I had a lot of muscle when I began classes but now I am more toned with less bulk. I have lost probably 8 pounds but I look a lot more “cut." I am much more flexible as well."
6) What is your favorite part of the gym?
"I love the variety of people that take classes there. Everyone fits in and I never felt out of place there. I would say that I am at the older end of the people that attend but no one makes you feel like you don’t belong."
7) Favorite kickboxing drill? Or exercise?
"I think I like the drills for conditioning the best. They really push you. Although I love the kickboxing classes, I also take the TRX classes. They are great for toning."
