THe Principle of brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Grand Master Helio Gracie was introduced to the Japanese art of jiu-jitsu by his brother, Carlos.  Accordingly, he began modifying the art to ensure that every technique was fully street applicable, energy efficient, and based on natural body movements. Confident in his adaptations, Grand Master Helio used his system’s effectiveness by using it to defeat numerous challengers, including several opponents who outweighed him by as much as 100 pounds. This program is now known as Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.

We at The Training Station stay true to the concept that a smaller opponent can successfully defend themselves against a larger, stronger opponent through proper technique. These techniques are taught by Arthur Buckholz who has 22 years of experience in Brazilian Jiu- Jitsu. Arthur has trained under multiple instructors in BJJ in his 22 years and holds the rank of Black Belt under Professor Luigi Mondelli: ATT Connecticut/ Kore Martial Arts.

The classes will consist of GI (uniform) N0-GI shorts and t-shirt classes with a ranking curriculum.
